Our Flipped Video Project on "Should"
Our Flipped Video Project on “Should”
For this project, we used the flipped classroom approach. A flipped classroom is when students learn the main lesson at home, usually through a video or reading, and then use class time for practice and activities. This method has some advantages and disadvantages for language classes.
Advantages:
- Students can learn at their own pace by pausing or rewatching the video.
- More class time for speaking activities and group work.
Disadvantages:
- Some students might not watch the video before class.
- It requires good time management and responsibility.
For our flipped video project, Elif, İrem, Meryem, and I focused on the topic of “should” and how to use it to give advice. My task was creating the dialogue activity to make the lesson relatable. We also prepared a Wordwall quiz to help students test their knowledge in a fun way.
While working on the project, we faced a few challenges. Sometimes, we couldn’t decide on the best content or design for the video. We solved this by discussing everyone’s ideas and meeting halfway. We split the work evenly: I did the dialogues, while the others worked on video editing, recording, and creating the quiz.
For the activity visuals, we used Canva, which is great for making presentations and designs. We recorded the video using a screen recording tool and added our voices as narration. And we used Wordwall to prepare a quiz. Links will be available:)
In the end, this project helped us learn how to work as a team and made learning “should” fun and interactive!
